My action plan involves transforming my mother’s home and yard into a permaculture garden and energy self-sufficient property. I plan to use this as an opportunity to gain experiential knowledge of how to create a self-sufficient house, especially in a water scarce area. This will be an ongoing project that I will be doing in steps partly due to the fact that I can only do it when I am visiting home and also because there are always new things to learn and implement as I go along. The majority of the work that I will be doing relating to this action plan will be planning the layout off the yard to best work with the natural flow of water and where the sun shines, along with making the house as efficient as possible before installing PV panels.
