I grew up watching my dad put lots of resources into maintaining our yard with chemical inputs, insecticides, and lots of water, only to grow grass and flowers. My plan is to introduce my parents, for the first time, to gardening and ecology using permaculture principles. This includes helping them build their own backyard garden and creating a composting system for their food waste.
